Top<\/strong> Books For Dad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Show Dad How<\/a> <\/em>by Shawn Bean. I don\u2019t remember how my husband ended up with this book, either from a baby shower or from me, but it was the first \u201cdad book\u201d he ever owned. He didn\u2019t grow up around babies, changing diapers or babysitting, so this book was a great tool for him. This book is practical and funny, with cartoons and diagrams that make dads laugh while actually teaching them and preparing them to become fathers. This is a great book idea for a first-time dad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters<\/a> by Dr. Meg Meeker. I mentioned it in prior posts, but Dr. Meg Meeker is an author where anything she writes, I will read. This book was my introduction to her over a decade ago. It covers the importance of a dad in a daughter\u2019s life, and how that relationship can be one of the most vital in shaping her and developing her for womanhood. Dr. Meg gives \u201c10 secrets every father should know\u201d. Read it and you\u2019ll see why it\u2019s one of her bestsellers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Raising a Modern Day Knight<\/a><\/em> by Robert Lewis. We used to have ceremonies in different cultures, formal or informal, where boys became recognized as men in their communities (and for girls to be recognized as women), but we don\u2019t really have such ceremonies anymore. This book parallels the process from medieval times of the training a boy would endure to become a knight and makes it applicable in today\u2019s time with skills, knowledge and conduct young men should operate by, led by their fathers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. How Deep: A Father\u2019s Love<\/a>. <\/em>This devotion provides 100 readings to encourage dads\u2019 hearts. Each devotion has a scripture, an encouraging word and a prayer. The devotions are short, perfect for the busy dad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. The Dangerous Book for Boys<\/a> <\/em>by Hal Iggulden. Not every boy is a boy scout or grew up with a dad who was a boy scout. This book is a great way for dads and sons to connect, learning about \u201cessential boyhood skills\u201d together. In the age of screens and social media, I love how this book helps boys disconnect from those screens, and get back to the activities that boys have loved for centuries, like making paper airplanes, fishing, chess, shooting slingshots, etc.  (There’s also a version for girls, The Daring Book for Girls<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
