Back in college, I remember seeing a chart (see below) that showed people and where they fall into categories related to adapting to technology. I fall into the Late Majority or Laggards categories.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite all the advancements with e-books, Kindles, Nooks, and iPads, I will always prefer a physical book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"848\" height=\"652\" src=\"http:\/\/readersgottaread.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/adapter-chart-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29\" srcset=\"http:\/\/readersgottaread.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/adapter-chart-1.jpg 848w, http:\/\/readersgottaread.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/adapter-chart-1-300x231.jpg 300w, http:\/\/readersgottaread.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/adapter-chart-1-768x590.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 848px) 100vw, 848px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Why I Prefer Physical Books Over E-Books<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tactile experience: I like the <em>feeling<\/em> of the book in my hands. Turning real pages, <em>seeing <\/em>the progress as I move through chapters &#8211; it makes reading more engaging. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No charging required: Unlike e-readers, physical books never need batteries or cords.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Screen-free time: Reading a paper book gives me a true break from devices and notifications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tradition:  Holding a physical book connects me to a simple pleasure people have enjoyed for centuries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some readers even love the smell of books or bookstores (that\u2019s not me, but I get the appeal!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>When E-Books Win<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My one exception where e-books win over hard copies \u2013 moving. Packing up boxes of books is time-consuming and heavy. An e-reader can hold thousands of titles in one lightweight device\u2014definitely easier on moving day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>The Great Debate: Physical Books vs. E-Books<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The truth is, both formats have pros and cons. Some readers love the portability and accessibility of e-readers, while others, like me, are loyal to physical books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What about you?
