Others stay with us long after we turn the final page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the biggest questions I ask before deciding whether to keep a book is simple: Would I read it again? If the answer is yes, it earns a permanent place on my bookshelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Books I want to reread usually have unforgettable characters, powerful stories, or leave me feeling inspired long after I\u2019ve finished them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Narrowing the list to just ten books was surprisingly difficult \u2013 it easily could have been fifty! Although I intentionally included several different genres, many of these stories have something in common. They&#8217;re about ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstances with courage, perseverance, and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I also realized I love books that leave me feeling encouraged or deeply moved. But every once in a while, none of the unread books on my shelf sound appealing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s usually when I revisit an old favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes I\u2019m waiting for an order from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thriftbooks.com\/share\/?code=oDtgiGYb5DRCM0K5Bxkgog%253d%253d\">ThriftBooks<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abebooks.com\/\">AbeBooks<\/a> to arrive. Other times I simply want the comfort of a familiar story I already know and love. They&#8217;re familiar, welcoming and have a way of making us feel at home every time we return to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes it&#8217;s the story itself that draws us back. Other times it&#8217;s the memories attached to reading it for the first time.
