I wear t-shirts pretty much anytime I’m not at work. My t-shirts can basically be broken down into four categories:

  • Reading (You knew this was coming.)
  • Boy Mom (I’ve got 2 super cute, loud, smart and curious boys.)
  • Race shirts (I’ve run 80 races from marathons to 5ks, so I have a huge collection in this category.)
  • Church shirts (My church designs shirts for various events and donates the profits to local charities. They also have a clearance event once or twice a year where the shirts are $5, and it’s hard to pass on that.)

Without further ado, I wanted to share some of my favorite reading shirts. Note: I’ve tried to find similar shirts on Amazon in case you’re interested, but styles have changed from the time I bought them so there are minor differences from the shirts I own and ones linked in Amazon.

Abibliophobia

The fear is real. I try to always have 2-4 books on deck so that when I finish a book, I can immediately start another. But sometimes I finish a book faster than I expected, and I find myself without any books in my To Be Read stack, and the ones from the library are all on a wait-list, and I start to feel panicky.  My usual response in this dilemma is to login to Thriftbooks and buy $15 worth of books (for the free shipping), but that doesn’t put a book in my hand right now. So, then I think about re-reading a book I already own, or I’ll make an emergency trip to Goodwill to find something. Note to self: never let the TBR pile drop below 3 books. https://amzn.to/3D3dF6b

Readers Gonna Read

I wore this to Reading in the Schools Day at my son’s school his Kindergarten year. The kids loved it. And some could even read it, which made it better.

I originally bought this on Jane.com, but it’s no longer available. Amazon has a similar design. https://amzn.to/4inhsu0

Bookmarks are for Quitters

There is a t-shirt section at one of our local Goodwill stores with t-shirts for sale for $2.99. If you get the color of the week tag, it’s half off for $1.50. I love browsing this section and have scored some really cute shirts. I was delighted to find a reading shirt – and I snagged it for $1.50! Huzzah! Does it even count if you don’t say how little you paid for something? https://amzn.to/3XoLzZW

So Many Books So Little Time

I resonate so deeply with this shirt’s sentiment. I have a stack of books by my bed with my immediate TBR pile. I have a back-up stack in my closet with honorable mentions that are to be read in case the library has nothing and I’m waiting on a new book to arrive in the mail. And I have an Amazon Wish List with 50+ books I want to read. My retirement dreams include a lot of reading. https://amzn.to/3XpkK7L
