When I graduated high school, my grandma gave me a beautiful leather NIV Study Bible. She lovingly filled out the Dedication Page with my name and included several of her favorite Bible verses.

I took that Bible to college, back home after graduation and through five more moves in my life. It wasn’t just a graduation gift to collect dust – I read it every day. And because it was heavily used, several of the pages had gotten wrinkled and some parts of the pages had come loose from the binding. And the leather was starting to look rough.

Eventually, I reached a point where I had two options: replace it or repair it. Since it came from my grandma and held deep sentimental value, I chose to have it professionally re-bound.

Finding the Right Bible Rebinding Service

I started researching Bible rebinding companies online, looking and options, prices and reviews. After comparing several businesses, I chose AA Leather.

What sold me were their Before and After pictures with Bible repairs they had done. I could see how well they restored leather covers, repaired bindings, and even smoothed out worn pages. When I called with my questions, their staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped me decide which repair options would work best for my Bible.

Sending My Bible for Restoration

Once I had decided, I carefully packaged up my Bible and shipped it off to AA Leather. Several weeks later, a package arrived with “AA Leather” on the return address – and I could not get it open fast enough!

Inside was my Bible, completed transformed. They had:

  • Smoothed out the wrinkled pages
  • Reattached loose pages to the binding
  • Replaced the leather cover entirely

It was my same well-loved Bible, but beautifully restored.

Why This Restoration Means So Much

My grandma passed away in October 2024, so it means even more to me now that I have the Bible she gave to me.

If you have a well-worn Bible with sentimental value, I highly recommend looking into Bible rebinding and leather restoration. It’s a wonderful way to preserve both the book and the memories tied to it.
